Church Audit Goes Well

Today we had two auditors from the conference look over the books of our church. As the new (although there wasn’t an old) Assistant Treasurer I had the fun of hanging out with them as we all dived into our financial records.

We did pretty well overall, definitely light years ahead of where we were last year. The auditors were really nice and seemed more concerned with helping us keep our records accurate than with “catching us” doing something wrong.

The real hero of the day was Andrey, our treasurer. He’s really done a lot to keep us on the straight an narrow of financial viability, and he put a lot of hard work into making the audit go as well as it did. Thanks again Andrey!!

Yea Andrey!!! It’s amazing. God just keeps bringing to the congregation exactly the people we need. Who would have thought a year ago that we would have a CPA doing our accounting? Not me! I figure by next year they’ll be asking Andrey to train the other treasurers. :)

Also, let’s not forget that Alburn, who wrote the post above, was at the church from 9:30 am till 5:00 pm or something and went to work that night with no sleep! Kudos to you, too, man!
